The 2008 Summer Beijing Olympic Games were amazing. I tried to see every sport and I cheered for every athlete. I saw many athletes embrace the Olympic motto Citius, Altius, Fortius, “Faster, Higher, Stronger”; as well as, many illustrated that athletes can be competitive and respectful towards other athletes through the winning and loosing process. Several athletes ended the games emotionally stronger by not displaying unsportsmanlike qualities towards each other nor to the athletes of other countries. I saw many great roll models come out of these games from every country.
I would like to extend my thanks to the men and women that made the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing possible. In addition, to the athletes who earned medals and to those who did not, thank you for showing the athletes of tomorrow that competition can bring out the best in people.
