We had a great time today at Lake Seminole Park today. Several vets participated in the kayaking and water skiing event. Today we had two quadriplegic adults paddle in our adapted Current Designs Kestrel kayak, they had a blast! I also had the fortune to be paddling with a few vets as a Bald Eagle played over our heads.
City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation did a great job sponsoring this event and the people from U CanSki 2 and Liquid Access opened the eyes of several paraplegics to the benefits of their water sports program. This event succeeded because of the hard work of the Parks and Recreation Dept., staff from the local VA Hospitals, people in the medical field, and the behind the scenes volunteers.
